Encounter Christ
Alpha
Alpha is a series of group conversations that explore the basics of the Christian faith in a friendly environment. Each night there is free dinner, a talk on a topic related to life and faith, and small group discussion.
Explore Sacred Scripture with other students seeking to better know Jesus Christ.
We offer Bible Studies at various times throughout the year.

OCIA is the Order of Christian Initiation for Adults for those who are interested in becoming Catholic or want to learn more about the Catholic faith.
Venture
Venture is a semester-long program for first semester Catholic freshmen to form meaningful friendships in Christ and deepen their faith. Venture promotes deep bonds of friendship in faith, moments of personal and common prayer, and an introduction to the wider Catholic community at AU.

Thornton Lectures follow in the long tradition of Catholic contribution to intellectual debate and discussion in the public sphere.
Open to everyone, these lectures occur once per semester and cover a diverse array of topics with lectures given by prominent Catholic speakers.
For those seeking to deepen their relationship with God through a one-on-one relationship with a priest or missionary. Youāll have the opportunity to walk with a mentor through different topics like prayer, friendship, Scripture, or anything else youād like to learn more about!

Want to serve the AUCatholic community? Consider joining the Leadership Team! This is a one-year commitment from January to December. Applications open in November.
Looking for an opportunity to serve the wider DC community? Join us for Works of Mercy, a program for volunteering that occurs twice per month on Saturday mornings from
9:00 – 11:30 AM.

Volunteer missionaries are young adults who dedicate a year of their lives to serving as full-time missionaries after college. You can serve as a VM at AU, Oregon State University, the University of Stirling (Scotland), or as a Mercy Missionary to the homeless in Portland, OR.
